Responsibilities (these are not all inclusive):
~Responsible for method of service, production and plating of cold dish items as set in the menu by our Executive Chef
~Properly execute plated dishes with varying components to standards set by Executive Chef
~Complete all open or closing station requirements as directed by Executive Chef
~Taste and review your prepared products on a daily basis to ensure quality & consistency for guest presentation
~Assist with the execution and maintaining of Executive Chef's recipes, presentations and ingredients
~Have working knowledge of proper knife and cutting techniques
~Identify and communicate suggestions to the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef for policies and procedures to improve the operation
~Able to work in a fast paced environment
~Able to multi-task and take verbal direction while working
~Able to work in a team environment to support and assist co-workers and peers
~Able to work independently with minimal direct supervision
~Organized and detail oriented
~Able to handle multiple tasks and works well in environment with time constraints.
~Able to handle last minute changes
~Minimum of 2 yrs experience in a high-volume setting as a prep, line, salad, saute, or grill cook
~Total understanding of all kitchen stations, cooking techniques and health standards
~The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and self-motivated attitude and be able to work in a hard working team environment and want to learn.
~Experience in a high-volume restaurant preferably in NYC
~Culinary certificate or degree a plus although not required
~Clean & organized working habits with attention to detail
~Friendly, outgoing & energetic team player with a positive attitude
~Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast paced environment
~Ability to communicate effectively
