Moors & Cabot is seeking an Operations Analyst for their Boston headquarters. This is a full time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
Role/Position Description:
In this position, the Operations Associate is responsible for the processing of many specific operational functions, as well as learning to cover and support their co-workers in keeping the Operations Department functioning smoothly. Most communications involved in this position will be with Financial Advisors, Client Associates and Ops personnel with our clearing firm. Good communication skills and working knowledge of Excel is required. This role reports to the Operations Manager. Responsibilities: Processing of new accounts and advisory accounts Process the setup of standing instructions, including the set up of periodic disbursements and ACH links Work with the IRA department of all IRA journals, including conversions and re-characterizations Work with the Credit department on margin issues/monies due Assist with DVP/RVP settlements, corporate actions, drop copy wire traffic, etc. Special team projects as needed
Primary Objectives: 1. Work independently and maintain high efficiency in all procedures
2. Respond to issues in a timely and professional fashion
3. Follow-up on all assignments to ensure they are complete and accurate
4. Be available to support co-workers as needed
5. Effectively use SmartStation for processing of all requests

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Business, Finance, or related field Series 99 or the ability to attain within first 3 months Ability to take initiative and work independently Responds well in a small team environment 3-10 years experience in a financial institution, specifically Operations/Back Office, is very desirable Master of Microsoft Office applications Experience with SmartStation helpful, but not mandatory Highly professional, detail oriented, communicative and straight forward persona
