Beazley is searching for a Catastrophe Analyst to join our team in Boston, MA. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to our E&S Property and E&S Homeowners insurance products through modelling and pricing risks, and capturing exposure data for bound risks.
Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of the Catastrophe Analyst will include: Enter policy data including perils, sub-limits and deductibles into RMS RiskBrowser Cleanse schedule location data & enter into RMS RiskBrowser Provide pricing and risk analysis for E&S Property & E&S Homeowners accounts, through preparation of RMS output to include pure premium, return period losses, marginal impact & RDS losses. Supply the above information to Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants pre-bind Support the underwriting risk assessment process. Update policy & location data in RMS RiskBrowser once risks are bound. Run integrity checks to ensure data is complete and accurate Quality control of risks entered in RMS RiskBrowser Liaise with US Property Underwriting Teams Interact with Exposure Management Team.

Comply with any specific responsibilities necessary for your role as outlined by your line manager, the Talent Management development or assurance teams (compliance, risk, internal audit) and ensure you keep up to date with developments in these areas. This may include, amongst others, Beazley s underwriting control standards, Beazley s claims control standards, other Beazley standards and customer relationship management. Ensure that you uphold the Beazley principle of Treating Customers Fairly. Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system.These may include, among others, European Strategy Team, US Management team or membership of any Beazley committees Provide a professional service in person, by email and on the telephone. Produce ad hoc reports for the underwriters and other members of staff when requested.
Personal Specification: Education and Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred
Skills and Abilities Accurate and numerate with attention to detail Strong computer skills Excel, Access Experience using RMS RiskBrowser Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing Ability to manage own time and prioritise work
Knowledge and Experience Insurance knowledge, Excess & Surplus Lines preferable Knowledge of Catastrophe modelling & data requirements
